Free Job Application Tracker

Keep every job you apply for on one board — from the jobs on your wishlist to interviews and offers. Add follow-up dates, see what is overdue and export everything to Excel. Your data stays in this browser.

Your board is empty. Add the first job you have applied for, or load an example board to see how it works.

Saved in this browser only — nothing is uploaded. Drag cards between columns, or use the ← → buttons.

Add an application

How the job tracker works

  1. Add an application — company, role, link to the ad and the date you applied.
  2. Move it as things change — drag the card, or use the arrows, from Wishlist to Applied, Interview, Offer or Closed.
  3. Set a follow-up date — the card turns amber on the day and red when it is overdue.
  4. Export or back up — download a CSV for Excel or Google Sheets, or a backup file to move the board to another device.

Everything is saved in your browser automatically. There is no account, so nobody else can see your job search.

What to record for each application

  • The job ad link — postings disappear once they close, so save a copy of the description too.
  • Which resume and cover letter you sent — note the version in the card, especially if you tailor each one.
  • Names and dates — who you spoke to, when, and what they said about next steps.
  • Interview questions — useful for the next round and for similar roles.

Tailoring helps: keep a resume, a matching cover letter and, where it is asked for, a motivation letter for each type of role you apply for.

When to follow up

Direct answer: if the posting gives no timeline, a short, polite follow-up about one to two weeks after applying is common. After an interview, send a thank-you message within a day, and follow up again if the date they gave you passes without news. Always follow the employer’s own instructions first.

Read your numbers

The figures above the board show how your search is going. A low interview rate after many applications usually points to the resume or the roles you target rather than to luck — check your resume with the free ATS checker and compare the requirements in the ads you saved. Many offers but few you want means it is time to narrow your wishlist.

FAQ

Is the job application tracker free?

Yes. The tracker is completely free, needs no account and has no limit on the number of applications you add.

Where is my job search data stored?

Only in this browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded to QuickCVLab or anyone else. Clearing your browser data deletes the board, so download a backup from time to time.

Can I export my job applications to Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Click Export CSV to download a spreadsheet file that opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers, with one row per application.

Can I use the tracker on my phone and computer?

It works on both, but each browser keeps its own board. To move your board, download a backup on one device and import it on the other.

When should I follow up on a job application?

If the posting gives no timeline, a polite follow-up about one to two weeks after applying is common, and a short thank-you note within a day of an interview. Set a follow-up date on each card and the tracker highlights it when it is due.
